According to one of the biographies among the many about the great masters, Ganor Rinpoche is the 14th reincarnation of Terton Ratag Pelsang or Karma Lekshe Drayang who has been specially blessed with virtuous qualities of the Great Masters prophesied by Buddha Sakyamuni like the the Adept or Pandita Penchen Bima Mita, Guru Padmasambhava, Lhalung Peldor and Namkhai Nyingpo( a heart son of Guru Padmasambhava). Rinpoche was born in the year 1942 on the 8th of the 9th month of the Tibetan lunar calenadar near Palpung town of Derge District in Dhokam in Eastern Tibet. His mother Rinchen Choedon was a descendent of the Drikung Kagyu lineage and his father was also a descendant of the great Surche Lineage which is one of the 3 types of old Tantric school in Tibet.
